New Independent Living Focused Program

LOCATION:  10808 RHODENDA PLACE, UPPER MARLBORO, MD  20772

WHAT:  AGE RANGE OFFICIALLY CHANGED TO 16-21

FOCUS:  READY BY 21 INDEPENDENT LIVING

TARGET:  Youth and young adults that have had multiple failed foster home placements and failed apartment style independent living programs. 

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS: 

• 24 hr supervision in the home

• daily life skills intervention and training

• weekly individual therapy focusing on social emotional development

• weekly group sessions that focus on relationships and life issues in the home

• outpatient drug rehabilitation for those that need it (random drug screening)

• assistance with employment

• enrollment in educational setting

• earned independent time away from GH approved by social worker

• earned monthly SMART card for approved visitations

• opportunity to earn weekly allowance

 AFTER 30 DAYS OF POSITIVE PROGRAM PARTICIPATION:

assistance in purchasing cell phone until employment obtained

participation in incentive program that includes increased clothing allowance, gift cards, electronics etc.

ALL GIRLS MUST:

participate in an educational program M-F

actively look for employment and maintain it

All youth must desire to be in the program and sign agreements stating that they will follow the program rules.
